Creative Calligraphy I

Introduction to Calligraphy, the Art of Decorative Lettering. After viewing several examples of what can be done once this art is mastered, including examples on display in the shop, students will learn about the style "italic." Exercises will include:

• Tracing over practice sheets to learn the order of the strokes, lower case letters a-m;
• Learning how to hold the pen at the correct angle
• Learning the system to determine proper width and height of the strokes depending on the size of the penpoint;
• We will start will felt-tip calligraphy markers for this class and most of the class the following week.
• Blank practice sheets will be given for students to complete at home. One pen included in class tuition. Orders taken for those interested of calligraphy booklet for fr.16.-(not required, photocopies of some pages given at no charge)
